To be completely honest, April felt like a much better month than March… I feel like the shock of the pandemic and the reality of the situation settled a lot and we learned to embrace it for what it is and make the best of our time.  

To be completely honest, part of me felt tempted to keep my favourite finds to myself, but I’ve ultimately decided that’s not the most neighbourly approach. ;) I thought I’d share where we’re buying our groceries and what types of items we’re getting where…  

I don’t actually feel like I need to be productive and efficient at every point in my day, but there are points when I do, and that’s where I’ve learned a few strategies that help me achieve that…  

I wanted to be doing these monthly recaps to create a bit of a time capsule, a snapshot, of our time, because it can be so easy for a mama to forget. Never did I think there would be so much to remember about one particular month… March has been quite a month! Or has it been a year?! I can’t be sure…   

Y’all, this has got to be the most bizarre time, not just to be alive, but to be pregnant, in recent history! 

This is not a blog post that is going to tell you how to homeschool your children. Instead, I’m going to share a few tips that have helped me over the last three years of being a homeschool mama… 

We’ve had some fun little mini adventures this month, lots of time together as a family, and we’ve been taking advantage of still being in our colder season to tackle lots of decluttering! 

I honestly can’t believe we’re at the 26 week mark already! I know everyone talks about how fast these things go, but it’s SO true! 

I’m 29, and I’ve been married for over a decade! Let that sink in for a minute… Sometimes, even after all this time, I still get taken aback by that! 

Since it’s Valentines Day, I thought I’d share my love songs playlist… I love listening to it all throughout the year but this seemed like an appropriate time to share… 

I’m cracking up at the fact that it has taken alllll the way into February to articulate my thoughts on our word for the year, and why we chose it… 

Happy National Texas Day y’all! I fell down the rabbit hole of pictures from our past trips to Texas the other night, and it got me thinking about some of the super random things I’m looking forward to about moving.  

A couple of weeks ago, when we were in the middle of our -40 degree temperatures here in Alberta, I came across this movement on Instagram that intrigued me… #1000hoursoutside  

When we were planning our last road trip to Texas, I just knew that we had to include a visit to the beach - I just couldn’t wait to take the kids to one of my favourite places!    

Without further adieu, we’re all pretty excited to announce that we are are adding a third Kolkman kid to our crew!! I’m officially 19 weeks along (almost half way there!!) and I seriously can’t believe how fast it is going! 

I honestly can’t even believe that this will be our 4th, and most likely final, Christmas in our cabin. And the 4th year of my favourite family Christmas tradition - cutting down a tree from our property. I really don’t even remember how or why we started doing this, but I do know that I love it! 

Back in February, Shane and I took a kid-free to Austin as part of our decision making process for our impending move. On the way home, we had an 8 hour layover in LA… 

Y’all, don’t hold your breath on me becoming a fashion blogger! I’m just a regular country mama that found a good pair of boots and wanted to share my win! ;)
